“Waters Part and Walls Fall”: The Newest Story in the Bible App for Kids

The newest story in the Bible App for Kids shows God’s people entering the promised land. It’s based on Numbers 13-14, Joshua 2-3, and Joshua 5-6 in the Old Testament. Moses sends 12 spies to explore the land flowing with milk and honey. Two return ready to trust God’s promise, but the other ten convince the people it’s just too dangerous. Years later, Joshua leads the next generation into Canaan with the ark of the Lord, and the Jordan River stops flowing for them, allowing them to cross on dry land.

As the Israelites approach the walled city of Jericho, the Lord’s messenger gives Joshua their “battle” instructions. They march around the city for seven days, carrying the ark and blowing their trumpets. When they finish marching on the last day, God’s people shout, and Jericho’s walls fall down for them.

New Bible App for Kids Stories about Jesus: “Beloved Son” and “A Test in the Desert”

The Bible App for Kids has two new stories about Jesus, both available now! Based on the New Testament accounts of Jesus’ baptism, “Beloved Son” shows John the Baptist preparing for Jesus’ arrival as the Savior of the world. And when Jesus comes to John to be baptized, you’ll see God’s Spirit descending on Jesus like a dove.

The Holy Spirit descends on Jesus at His baptism

Then, “A Test in the Desert” recounts the story of Satan testing Jesus, as told both in Matthew 4 and Luke 4. God’s Spirit leads Jesus into the wilderness, where he fasts for 40 days, just before he’s confronted by Satan. Your kids will see Jesus quoting Scripture to Satan before he passes the test.

Bible App Adds Condensed View for Bookmarks, Highlights, Notes

The latest version of the Bible App has a handy new feature, Condensed View, that lets you see more of what you want on the screen. Previously, your Bookmarks, Highlights, and Notes all displayed on their respective screens as a list, the same way they appear in your Home view, showing you the Likes and Comments for each.

But now, you can tap the icon in the top right corner of any of these screens—Bookmarks, Highlights, or Notes—and your list toggles to “condensed” mode, showing you more of them at a time. If you want to see them in expanded view again, tap the icon again, and it toggles back. And this new Condensed View is smart, too: the Bible App remembers the last view you selected and defaults to it when you come back.

To see Condensed View in action, first make sure you have the latest version of the Bible App for your device. Then check each of your Bookmarks, Highlights, and Notes screens for the new icon in the top right corner.
