What does true rest look like?

What does real rest look like?

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

MATTHEW 11:28

In a world burdened by busyness, Jesus invites us into something greater—rest. But what does real rest look like?

Here are 3 ways you can create space to rest.

TALK TO GOD

Throughout His ministry, Jesus often withdrew to rest and connect with God.

Whether you’re driving, going on a walk, or spending time with the people in your life, pause and talk to God throughout your day.

BE INTENTIONAL

Prioritizing rest doesn’t happen by accident.

Try scheduling time to be still each day on your calendar, and then communicate those times to your family and friends.

This will help you stay accountable when the world tries to pull you into work and activity.

PRACTICE SABBATH REST

From the beginning, God modeled rest, and He invites us to make it part of our weekly rhythm.

This idea of intentionally setting aside a day to be with God and enjoy His presence is called Sabbath. It’s a way to remember that God loves us not because of what we do, but because of who He is.

When was the last time you really rested in God’s presence?

God is at work … and He’s using people like you!

God is at work…

…And He’s using people like you!

This year, more people than ever before are already experiencing greater intimacy with God through YouVersion.

And it’s all possible thanks to the support of our generous Community.

This year alone, our Community is… Completing more than twice as many Guided Prayers-up 225% compared to last year! Completing 89% more Verse of the Day Stories

As people set new habits and goals, the YouVersion app is here to meet them—and your generosity helps make that possible.

All this momentum means more people in more places are deepening their relationship with God through Scripture every day.

People like Kristin, in Indiana, who shared…

“I was introduced to Christ and YouVersion within days of each other. Applying the Bible to my life seemed outside my understanding and intimidating. Through YouVersion’s helpful daily Scripture and devotional Plans, I have a better understanding of God.”

Imagine the millions of people like Kristin who will experience the life-giving truth of God’s Word when you give today. That’s the power of your partnership at work. And this is just the beginning!

Impact even more lives by giving today.

In Kristin’s own words, this is the life-change you’re supporting…

“Now, I pray and talk to God multiple times a day. I want to start and end my days with my Heavenly Creator, and YouVersion is a huge part of that for me.”

Thank you for giving as generously as you can. Together, we can help more people discover how life-altering an intimate relationship with God can be.

How do you spend your time?

How do you spend your time?

“…where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

MATTHEW 6:21

This month, you have the opportunity to prioritize and deepen your relationship with God and with others.

Here are 3 ways to make time for what matters.

CONSISTENTLY READ GOD’S WORD

“Living in a world where life’s responsibilities constantly compete for my time and attention, spending time reading God’s Word was a struggle.”

KHADINE, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

Through YouVersion, Khadine was able to form a daily Bible habit by increasing her motivation and holding herself accountable with Badges.

“My spiritual life is richer and more meaningful. I feel like I am better equipped to impact God’s Kingdom.”

If you’re like Khadine and you struggle to consistently stay in God’s Word, join the 21-Day Challenge this month!
