Last night we pushed a new update for YouVersion, this is a robust update with added translations, multiple bug fixes, and interactive note capabilities within the Bible Reader.   In addition to the bug fixes, we are excited to announce these new translations:  Contemporary English Version (CEV); New English Translation (NET); Italian Riveduta (1927); Korean Revised Version; and many others.

In the launch of the NET Bible translation, we have also included over 60,932 translators’ notes!  The Net Bible (Bible.org) was completed by more than 25 scholars, who worked directly from the best currently available Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts.  

Translators’ notes can be seen directly in the reader as a notes bubble opens when you hover over a link.  Each bubble contains major interpretive options and alternative translations for the highlighted text.

Check it out! iPhone Bible App Version 1.3 launched this morning in iTunes app store. New features include offline access to multiple translations in Airplane mode, or anytime! Available Offline Translations include: ASV, KJV, WEB, RVES, ELB, DELUT, LSG, CUVS, CUV, BG1940, SV1750, FINPR, KAR, IDBAR, NORSK, AA, RMNN, and RURSV.

Plus a new Reader format that supports section headers, paragraphs, and red letters. Also included in the version 1.3 – smoother scrolling in the reader; improved translations area; and bug fixes through out the app! Go to iTunes today and download version 1.3 of the YouVersion iPhone Bible App!

We are working feverishly to make available more translations in the offline mode, we are also continuing to broaden the number of Bible translations in English and many more languages.

We are excited to tell you that we added 3 new Bible translations… Elberfelder Bibel (German), Louis Segond (French), and Chinese Union Version Simplified. With these additions, YouVersion now serves 5 different languages.

Additionally, today we added member search. Now you can simply search the entire YouVersion system to find your friends, family or co-workers. It is as easy a logging in, clicking Profile and using the member search tool.

You spoke, and we listened! Now, our search is better, faster, more advanced…..and easier to use! Many of you kept asking for an easy way to copy and paste scripture from YouVersion to your blog, a document, etc. Now you can!

Now you can easily copy and paste scripture from YouVersion as well share scripture from your search via email. We are excited about these updates, and excited about all the great feedback that we continue to receive.
