At YouVersion, we have the best jobs in the world. Every day, we do everything we can to help people engage with the Bible. And we get to partner with visionaries, friends who inspire us by actively translating Bibles…and then freely sharing those Bibles with us. And with you. Together, we’re working to make God’s Word available to every person on Earth, no matter where they live or what language they prefer.

During the last six months alone, our Bible partners have given us 102 new versions and 86 new languages to add to the Bible App. (The complete list appears at the end of this post.) Thanks to their generosity, we’re now able to offer 1,200 versions in 868 languages. Join us. Help us get Bibles to people like this boy in Nepal…
Maithili is just one language in the batch of 86 we just added. One of the most common languages in India, Maithili is the second most widely used language in Nepal. Maithili is the primary language of 12 million people and a second language to 33 million more. Let that sink in for a moment. For millions of people, the Maithili Bible (provided by Wycliffe) marks the first opportunity they’ve ever had to experience God’s Word in the language of their heart. What will God’s Spirit say to them? To him?

And help us get Bibles to people like this woman…
Amharic is another of the 86. In Ethiopia, where this woman lives, 22 million people speak Amharic. Outside Ethiopia, Amharic has another 2.7 million speakers. And for 15 million people, Amharic is their only language. (After Arabic, Amharic is the second-most spoken Semitic language in the world.) The Amharic Bible (or New Amharic Standard Version, provided by Biblica) presents God’s Word to Amharic speakers in an everyday style that’s easy for ordinary people to read and understand. Even in remote areas where people don’t have running water or reliable transportation, many have cell phones, tablets, and other mobile devices — which means they now have the opportunity to experience the Bible in their heart language.
