200 Million Reasons to be Thankful

thankful

There’s a reason we’re so passionate about ensuring that everyone has access to the Bible. For each of us at YouVersion, when we discovered God’s story of love for us in His Word, it changed our lives. Our mission is personal. And this holiday season in particular, we have so many reasons to give God thanks.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
Colossians 3:16–17, NLT

The Bible App has now been installed on over 200 million unique devices. And because of the generosity of our Bible publishing partners, YouVersion is able to offer more than 1,200 Bible versions, in almost 900 languages. All over the world, in countries like Iran, Bulgaria, Uruguay, China, Namibia, and Pakistan — to name just a few — more people than ever before are turning to the Bible to see what God wants to say to them through His Word. That’s reason to celebrate.

God is reaching out to children, too. Two years ago today, we launched the Bible App for Kids with our partner OneHope. And thanks to the work of passionate translation volunteers, today children all over the world are able to enjoy the Bible App for Kids’ stories in Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Indonesian, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. The Bible App for Kids has now been installed more than 9 million times. We believe that the children who are discovering God’s love for them today will make the world a better place as they share that love with others.

We have so many more things to tell you about all that God is doing through His Word. We’ll share those in the coming weeks, but today, please take time to reflect on what God is doing in your life and in your relationships — and give Him thanks.
