Blackberry Bible App 1.0

Annoucing the Blackberry Bible App [powered by Youversion.com] is now out of beta and into version 1.0!

Biggest UI change is an upgrade to a more elegant design, while also integrating sleek carousel navigation in the interface. Other features include the ability to email verse to a friend, view contributions from YouVersion users and compatibility with a wider range of Blackberry handsets. Models included in this update are: 9000, 87xx, 88xx, 83xx, 8220, 7130, 81xx… Look for the Storm compatible Bible App coming soon.

WordPress YouVersion Plug-in Now Available

Attention Blogosphere: You can now link scripture references directly to YouVersion from your blogposts, with the option to have a text bubble within the post of the scripture itself.  For instance:

[youversion]Matthew 5:1-8[/youversion]

You have the option in your wordpress admin to enable the text bubble or just have a straight link to YouVersion.  Text bubble is limited to public domain translations, so if you disable the text bubble in the plugin’s administration page you have the ability to link to any available translation on YouVersion.  You also have the option to change bubble color.  So go check it out!!  Download the YouVersion plugin, and then upload it into your plugin folder in your wordpress account.

New Update on Black Berry Bible App

This afternoon we pushed a new update for the Blackberry Bible App powered by YouVersion.  This update includes:

Hot Keys – for quick chapter advance

Share – share verses with friends

Better UI – a more stylized user interface and icons

Book List – for easy scrolling and searching.

We are excited to get this update out to all of our Blackberry users, and we are continuing to improve this app with more improvements to come in the next few weeks.  You can get the Blackberry download Here.  Enjoy!

Linking to YouVersion Now Made Easy!

YouVersion Link Tool

This new tool allows you to link to specific verses in YouVersion via a shortened url, useful for twitter posts, emails, and blog posts.  It also gives you the ability to link to specific verses on the m.youversion.com site. Below is an example of the url’s generated from a search for Matt 5:12:

Just type in the verse, select the translation, and hit the go button.  Underneath the search bar you are given the web url, the mobile url, and the verse itself. The new link tool can be found on the footer of YouVersion.com and can also be accessed at http://www.youversion.com/linktool

iPhone Bible App Version 1.6!!

Stop what you are doing, check out the App Store on your iPhone, and download version 1.6!!  We are very excited about this update as it offers you the ability to bookmark your favorite verses, which has been one of the most requested features on our feedback page.  We also have improved the translations page giving it a new look with alphabetical scrolling and nifty sidebar shortcut (much like the contact scrolling on the iPhone).

We have also fixed some minor bugs and are continuing to add languages and translations for your specific taste!  Enjoy version 1.6 and keep us in the loop on any requests, bug reports and comments on our feedback page!
