iPhone Bible App v1.2 is LIVE NOW!

Today the iPhone Bible App v1.2 launched and we are thrilled to announce all the new features it offers! Here are a few worth mentioning:

+ Localization: the application now is localized to English (en), Spanish (es), French (fr), and German (de).
+ New Translations: Svenska 1917 (sv), Elberfelder Bibel, Luher Bible 1545 (de) Louis Segond (fr) Chinese Union Version Traditional (zh-hans) Bulgaria 1940 (bg) Statenvertaling (nl) Finnish 1938 (fi) KAjroli 1590 (hu) Terjemahan Baru (id) Det Norsk Bibelselskap 1930 (no) Joao Ferreir de Almeida Atualizada (pt) Romanian Cornilescu 1928 (ro) Russian Synodal Version (ru)
+ Book divisions: the books area is separated into key sections.
+ Share: you can now simply share a verse with a friend via email, and also notify a friend about the application.
+ Settings: within the settings area, you can change your font size in the Bible reader, and adjust to a low light version for simple reading in a dark place.
+ Improved user interface
+ Many bug fixes and improvements.

Finally, OFFLINE!!!!.….Oops…we messed up. You can get a sneak peak in your setting area, but offline is not quite ready yet. Frankly, we pushed out some code out on accident…but take that as a hint that offline is coming, really, really soon!

YouVersion…31 Bible Translations…16 languages…1 amazing community!

We’re pleased to announce new Bible translations and additional languages for YouVersion.com, YouVersion mobile, and the upcoming 1.2v Bible App for iPhone. YouVersion iPhone Bible App 1.1 Update

As many of you know we recently launched YouVersion on the iPhone. Today, we would like to draw your attention to the 1.1 update that Apple released through the iTunes Application Store.

Bible App 1.1 Update Notes

Added 4 translations including: Holman Christian Standard Bible HCSB (English), Elberfelder Bibel (German), Louis Segond (French), and Chinese Union Version Simplified. Added new features including the translation strip (allows translations to be easily changed) and made the tab bar customizable. Several bug fixes including occasional connectivity problems with EDGE, 3G, and Wifi networks.

We are aggressively adding features and developing the iPhone Bible Application. Just a few things you can look forward to in the near future is: Offline availability, share verses with a friend, language localization, and much more

YouVersion adds German, French and Chinese Translations

We are excited to tell you that we added 3 new Bible translations… Elberfelder Bibel (German), Louis Segond (French), and Chinese Union Version Simplified. With these additions, YouVersion now serves 5 different languages.

Additionally, today we added member search. Now you can simply search the entire YouVersion system to find your friends, family or co-workers. It is as easy a logging in, clicking Profile and using the member search tool.

You spoke, and we listened! Now, our search is better, faster, more advanced…..and easier to use! Many of you kept asking for an easy way to copy and paste scripture from YouVersion to your blog, a document, etc. Now you can!

Now you can easily copy and paste scripture from YouVersion as well share scripture from your search via email. We are excited about these updates, and excited about all the great feedback that we continue to receive. Look for more updates coming soon to the YouVersion Bible App for iPhone as well as more updates coming to YouVersion.

YouVersion Now Available on iPhone

We’re excited to announce the debut of the Bible App for the iPhone, powered by YouVersion. This revolutionary online Bible now fits in the palm of your hand, allowing you to access the content that’s most meaningful to you no matter where you are. Users of the iPhone and iPod Touch can download it now for free from Apple’s built-in App Store.

The Bible App includes many of the features from YouVersion mobile, but enhances the user’s experience by taking advantage of the iPhone’s multi-touch interface.

Daily Read: The One-Year Reading Plan provides daily selections to keep you on track with your Bible reading when you’re on the go.

ContribsUser Contributions: Since the Bible application is powered by YouVersion.com, you are only a few taps away from an online community of people experiencing the Bible in a new way. Expand your perspective by checking out relevant notes, video, images, and links users have contributed—just tap the number next to the verse. You can also tap the Contribs icon located in the tab bar to view a list of recently shared items.Search

There are 15 different translations (including Spanish versions) available in the Bible App. You can pick your favorite and make it your default.
