iPhone Bible App version 1.5

Version 1.5 has been pushed to the iTunes App Store! Go get your FREE update Today!

Version 1.5 has some small tweaks including improved searching, more translations, and some refinement on the appearance.  We also fixed a few offline bugs, specifically the ‘tunnel affect’ which happens when someone is on an online translation and goes through a patch of no-connectivity (tunnel).  Before this crashed the app, now it will give you an option to pick a offline translation.  This along with some other fixes should make your iPhone Bible reading experience much smoother.

Introducing the Blackberry Bible App!

In April we released YouVersion Mobile…in July we launched the iPhone Bible App…and today we’re excited to announce a new Bible App for the Blackberry.

As we’ve been working on the enhancement of YouVersion.com, many of you let us know that you’d like a Blackberry App that took you directly to YouVersion Mobile. Today, you have your wish!

iPhone Bible App 1.4 has launched!

Don’t wait…the iPhone Bible App v1.4 is now available in the Apple App Store. We also have GREAT news….. The app is still FREE!

New features include improved scripture formating as well as Korean and Italian translations. If you were counting, we now have 35 online Translations in 19 different languages. In v1.4 we improved how to select and manage your Offline Translations. We also radically improved online and offline search, as well as integrating web browsing within the App.

Enjoy 1.4, and stay tuned. v1.5 is right around the corner and our international users will be very happy!

YouVersion Update

Last night we pushed a new update for YouVersion, this is a robust update with added translations, multiple bug fixes, and interactive note capabilities within the Bible Reader.   In addition to the bug fixes, we are excited to announce these new translations:  Contemporary English Version (CEV); New English Translation (NET); Italian Riveduta (1927); Korean Revised Version; and many others.

In the launch of the NET Bible translation, we have also included over 60,932 translators’ notes!  The Net Bible (Bible.org) was completed by more than 25 scholars, who worked directly from the best currently available Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts.  bubble style notes directly in Bible Reader

Translators’ notes can be seen directly in the reader as a notes bubble opens when you hover over a link.  Each bubble contains major interpretive options and alternative translations for the highlighted text.
