1 Thessalonians

Paul comforts the Thessalonian Christians in the midst of persecution and fear. He directs their hope to the future return of Jesus who will bring justice and make all things right.

2 Thessalonians

Paul brings more comfort to the persecuted Thessalonian Christians. He also clarifies his teaching about Jesus’ future return and challenges people whose selfish lifestyles are causing trouble in the church.

Paul guides Timothy in how to restore order to the church in Ephesus. It’s been disrupted by corrupt leaders who are leading the people astray. Here Paul offers a wholistic vision of the church’s purpose and mission in the world.

Paul writes his final letter from prison, asking Timothy to come visit him before he’s executed. Paul offers a personal challenge to Timothy and shows us that following Jesus requires sacrifice and risk.
