NIV Translation and Many New Features Added

Our digerati team has been cooped up in the dimly lit digerati den cranking out code and features for this new release of YouVersion.com. We are so excited to announce the new features in Beta R7.0.

NIV TRANSLATION – The NIV translation is now up and live on YouVersion.com! We know how many of you use the NIV and we are very grateful to the IBS for their help!

We have also added several new features!

Searching – Search results are now expanded to include Community Results as well as Scripture, so you can see who is talking about the topic you’re interested in!

RSS – You can now subscribe via RSS to recent contribution feeds. Be the first to know when someone has added content! Even more specifically, if you like what a particular user is contributing, you can also subscribe to his or her RSS contribution feed and be notified when that user publishes new content.

Invite a Friend – We’ve also made it easier for you to spread the YouVersion love! You can invite your friends to check out YouVersion by easily importing your address book.

Follow Someone – Following your friends is now all the rage in social networking. Did you know YouVersion has a similar feature? If you find someone you think is interesting on YouVersion, simply follow them. You’ll be able to easily access their public contributions, see their tags and starred verses.

The Future is Bright

This week the YouVersion development team came together and planned out the next few core releases. There has been a lot of activity here at the YouVersion Ranch…a lot of phone calls, a lot of faxing, and a lot of…well…planning. And as you are reading this, I know you are thinking…phone calls and faxing??? Why? Well, phone calls and faxing is how you work with publishers, and there has been a lot of that going on!

YouVersion Beta R6.5

YouVersion Beta R6.5 is live, and you can now enjoy the goodness. Why you might be asking is this 6.5 and not R7? Well, it is actually not a full release, it is a release update or a release patch. Most of the updates you can see are highly focused around fixing many Internet Explorer 6 bugs and display challenges.

However, there are a few nice bonuses. R6.5 does clean up your account pages, and your account edit pages. We also added a great way to share YouVersion with you friends, you can simply go to YouVersion.com/share.php
to see more. But, the biggest bonus is we added the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB).

YouVersion Translation Tutorial

Did you know…?
YouVersion currently has twelve translations (nine English & three Spanish). And it’s easy to choose a translation!

When you first visit the YouVersion page, you’ll notice the default is the KJV. To change translations, simply click on the current translation name.
